EAGLE OF THE CROSS RECIPIENTS
The Office of Youth & Young Adult Accompaniment presented Eagle of the Cross Awards to teens in the six counties of the Diocese of Youngstown who model Christian discipleship and exemplify the qualities of moral integrity, prayer, good works and Christian leadership in their school and parish communities. The awards were presented in a ceremony on April 28. Winners in the parish category include: Jessica Berry (Ashtabula County), Riley Cordell (Trumbull County), Louis Cross (Mahoning County), Malena Gottwig (Ashtabula County), Sophie Johnson (Trumbull County), Jordyn Miller (Mahoning County), Dalton Nellis (Ashtabula County), Andrew Didymus Puhalla (Mahoning County), Abigail Restaino (Trumbull County), Mattea Spitale (Stark County) and Rocco Zembala (Portage County).
Winners in the Catholic school category include: Madeleine Devlin (Ursuline High School), Pierce Jones (Cardinal Mooney High School), Luke Lantz (Ursuline High School), Nelson Lopez (Cardinal Mooney High School), Luke Paul (Central Catholic High School), Landon Stanek (St. Thomas Aquinas High School) and Ahtziry Villegas-Camacho (St. Thomas Aquinas High School). The fourth annual Bishop’s Golf Classic, which supports diocesan seminarians, will be held at The Lake Club on Monday, June 22. The event includes an 18-hole scramble, breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet, and many special contests, raffles and prizes.
