BY THE NUMBERS: Diocesan Cemeteries

A snapshot of the positive, exceptional or interesting events happening around the diocese

77 Cemetery events

In 2023, Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services (CFCS) serving the Diocese of Youngstown actively engaged in the community by hosting 62 prayer services, Masses at the cemeteries, outreach initiatives and a “Celebrate Our Cemeteries” Mass presided over by Bishop Bonnar. Its Precious Lives Program also offered remembrance services for those suffering the loss of a child, and its Christmas of Remembrance service provided a space for families to connect and reflect during the holiday season.

210 Cremated remains interred at no cost

CFCS’s All Souls Remembrance Program offered a permanent place of remembrance for 210 souls within the sacred confines of our diocesan cemeteries since 2023. This compassionate service, which includes the interment of cremated remains in the All Souls Remembrance Crypt, is extended at no cost to the families, ensuring every soul is honored and remembered within the sanctified grounds of a Catholic cemetery.

2,096 Families served

Since 2023, our diocesan cemeteries played a vital role in providing 2,096 families with the interment of their loved ones. This effort included those served by the All Souls Remembrance and Precious Lives programs, in addition to 827 burials, 618 cremation interments and 434 families who pre-planned for their services.
