Sister Kathleen Myers – 60th Jubilee

Sister Kathleen Myers (Sister Ann Peter) entered the Humility of Mary Community from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Canton. A 1964 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Canton, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from St. John College in Cleveland, and began a 41-year ministry in education in the Cleveland and Youngstown dioceses.

Among the places she has served are St. Sebastian in Akron; St. Edward in Youngstown; St. John the Baptist in Canton; and St. Barbara in Massillon, where she taught for 29 years. During her time in education, she was honored with several awards and recognitions, including Outstanding Educator in 2003, Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 2004 and the Golden Apple Award from the Youngstown Diocese in 2005. Sister Kathleen has volunteered in her community to help her elderly neighbors with house cleaning and currently helps several with their yard work. She also volunteers at House of Loreto in Canton, doing sewing and mending for the nursing home residents, and currently serves in the Humility of Mary Ministry of Prayer.
