INCREASED ENROLLMENT
Canton Central Catholic’s enrollment increased from 330 to 366. John F. Kennedy Catholic School in Warren has also seen a five percent increase, and the Class of 2025 will be its largest since 2017. Ursuline High School in Youngstown also reported an increase, with 255 boys and 265 girls enrolled.
The diocesan Office of Catholic Schools reports that enrollment has increased overall, thanks in part to increased scholarship awards, including more families taking advantage of EdChoice scholarships, increased Good Samaritan Scholarship awards and more.

DOZENS OF NEW COURSES
Diocesan Catholic Schools are offering several new courses, especially in their STEAM curriculums.
Canton Central Catholic added nine new courses to its curriculum—from Bioethics to Foundations of Artificial Intelligence. Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown now offers 28 AP and honors courses, and Ursuline High School in Youngstown added a Biomedical Investigations course to its Merici Med Prep Program.
4 NEW FACILITIES
Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown recently completed its Don Bucci Field & Track, which will be used this fall. Saint John School in Ashtabula broke ground on its new student center—a new wing of the school with a cafeteria and classrooms. Canton Central Catholic opened its Renee Powell Student Learning Commons in February, including a digital conference center, maker space and more. John F. Kennedy Catholic School’s Student Betterment Committee recently completed upgrades on its inner courtyard, including the planting of a garden that supplies donations to the local St. Vincent De Paul Soup Kitchen.
