Sister Cheryl Rose moved to Westlake, Ohio, at the end of her junior year after two years in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and eight years prior in Chicago. As a new senior at Magnificat, she met her now sixth order of nuns, and knew the lively, joyful Humility of Marys were the community God intended for her.
She entered the community on September 12, 1963, professed first vows on July 17, 1966, and final vows on July 17, 1971. After receiving a Bachelor of Science from Notre Dame College in Cleveland, she received a master’s in religious studies from John Carroll University. She became a certified Enneagram teacher, and is also a certified spiritual director from the Hesychia program in Tucson, Arizona.
In 1969, Sister Cheryl began teaching physics and chemistry for four years at Lourdes Academy and Erieview Catholic High School. For seven years she taught chemistry, physics and theology at Villa Maria High School, then fifteen years at Magnificat, teaching science, theology and leading retreats. She served 20 years in HM Vocation/Formation ministry. She currently offers retreats (Empty Bowl, JOY, OMY, Enneagrams), spiritual direction and retreats for various groups. Sixty years pursuing the God who first pursued her!
