“During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; we serve by giving alms; and we practice self-control through fasting. We are called to a true inner conversion of heart as we seek to follow Christ’s will more faithfully.” -United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
Here are some resources to enhance your prayer life during this season of Lent:
Lent with the Saints: Daily Reflections, by Father Greg Friedman, O.F.M.: With insightful reflections, Father Greg Friedman draws on his love of the saints to offer daily inspiration during this season of repentance, forgiveness and hope.
Lent: Season of Transformation, by Amy Ekeh: During Lent we strive to free ourselves from all kinds of clutter—material and spiritual—to focus on God and turn back to him with our whole hearts.
Hope from the Ashes: Insights and Resources for Welcoming Lenten Visitors, , by Paul E. Jarzembowski: According to the publisher: “This book explores the phenomenon that millions of people who are not regular churchgoers come back to receive ashes and engage in Lenten practices every year. It is packed with ideas for pastoral leaders to help their congregations accompany newcomers and visitors.”
