On August 8, the community of St. Dominic Church in Youngstown celebrated the feast of its patron saint, St. Dominic. The celebration included a bilingual Mass, a procession, a barbecue, delicious tamales, alpacas, piñatas, and fun for the whole family. A beautiful day of faith, culture, and community!

Each year, the Diocese of Youngstown honors teachers and students from its Catholic schools with the Golden Apple and the Eagle of the Cross awards. This year, two members of the Hispanic community received these awards for their commitment to education, faith, and service.

The dioceses of Michigan and Ohio organized a webinar to inform their team of Church leaders about issues relating to immigration and the Church on April 24. It emphasized human dignity and allowed participants to reflect on how to respond collectively to the immigration crisis of today.

Centro San Pablo Salem
In Salem, Ohio, there is a place where faith, culture, and community come together to support Hispanic families. That place is Centro San Pablo, a space created by St. Paul Parish to respond to the spiritual and human needs of a community that has grown through effort, work, and hope. Since its opening in 2014, Centro San Pablo has become a gathering place for families from different Latin American countries who now call northwest Ohio home. Traditions that were born in different countries remain alive in Salem thanks to the efforts of those who wish to share their culture with new generations.

Desde su inauguración en el año 2014, el Centro San Pablo se ha convertido en un punto de encuentro para familias de diferentes países latinoamericanos que hoy llaman hogar al noroeste de Ohio. Experience the powerful Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross) brought to life by the Hispanic community in Youngstown, Ohio. Organized by the Hispanic congregation, Pastor Father Frassati Davis, O.P. and the John XXIII Movement, this moving reenactment invites us to reflect on the passion and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Participants walked together in prayer, faith, and unity.
