“Vocation” includes the priesthood and the diaconate, as well as religious and consecrated life, marriage and the single life. Every baptized Catholic has a vocation. Below are resources to support priestly vocations, lay ecclesial ministers and other Church leaders, which encourage everyone’s vocation.
Called by Name: Preparing Yourself for the Vocation of Catechetical Leader, by Joe Paprocki: In this first volume of The Effective Catechetical Leader series, you’ll discover what it really means to be a disciple of Christ, what your role as a catechetical leader entails, how leadership in a ministerial context must differ from leadership in a business setting, how to avoid burnout and so much more.
Hundredfold: A Guide to Parish Vocation Ministry, by Rhonda Gruenewald: Hundredfold is the definitive handbook for promoting vocations in Catholic parishes. The book provides step-by-step guidance on how to carry out dozens of vocation-oriented activities. It’s written for ordinary Catholics in ordinary parishes who want to inspire an extraordinary new generation of priests and religious.
Anointed to Lead, by Stephen S. Wilbricht, CSC: It is through our baptism that we each become priest, prophet and king, and make Christ tangibly present in the world. Wilbricht invites parish staffs and leaders to reflect on how they can guide parishioners to embrace their baptismal vocation of discipleship and mission.
