Want to learn more about praying? This month, we offer the following resources to help support your prayer life:
A Little Book of Light: Sparks of Hope, Moments of Prayer, by Alice Camille: These powerful meditations are focused on bringing light and hope to the challenging seasons of our lives. This gem of a book offers readers relatable insights based on a short passage from Scripture. Divided into three sections, readers are invited to receive the light, trust the light and share the light.
Prayer from A to Z, by Janet Schaeffler, OP: Sister Janet offers pertinent reflections for catechists themselves, with over 100 creative ways they can share prayer with those they teach, using the alphabet as her guide. This is a great prayer resource for catechists and teachers, and parents will find much here to share with children at home.
The Catholic Way to Pray: An Essential Guide for Adults, by Kathleen Glavich, SND: Here you will find the information and inspiration you need to jumpstart your prayer life as a Catholic. Highly recommended for all Catholic adults, including catechists, parish ministers and RCIA teams, especially catechumens and candidates. It’s a great gift for those new to Catholicism.
To borrow these or other resources, the diocesan library and Office of Faith Formation and Lay Ecclesial Ministry are open for in-person visits and consultations 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. You may also visit the library online. Once you make your selections, you can email the request to mhynes@youngstowndiocese.org.
