Bishop David J. Bonnar celebrated a special Mass on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at St. Columba Cathedral, marking the wedding anniversaries of 119 couples. Those honored represented a combined 5,644 years of wedded life, celebrating anniversaries ranging from 25 to 70 years.
Paul and LaVerne Schraf of St. Jude Parish in Columbiana and William and Lee Sheridan of Holy Family Parish in Poland, were the longest married of those registered, celebrating 70 years. Other couples included: 31 couples married 51-69 years; 40 couples married 50 years; 31 couples observing 40 years; and 15 couples marking 25 years.
The Wedding Anniversary Celebration included a renewal of marriage vows at Mass, followed by a reception for the couples and their families, hosted by members of St. Michael Parish in Canfield. Those in attendance received personalized certificates.
