The Voice of Hope dinner in its current form was first held in 2000. And each year, an award is given out to individuals or organizations who help celebrate the unity and identity of the Catholic Charities’ Services in the Diocese of Youngstown.
Prison Ministry Volunteers, represented by retired diocesan coordinator of prison and jail ministry Bill Barber, and Humility of Mary Sister Mildred Ely were honored at the 2024 dinner.
Students at St. John School in Ashtabula grew rainbow trout and released them into their natural habitat.
Sister Jean Orsuto, H.M., 78, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Sister Mildred Ely and William Barber will be honored May 2nd with the Voice of Hope award.
