n 2023, St. Columba Cathedral Parish hosted an art contest for students in diocesan Catholic schools to decorate the new wooden covers for the cathedral’s exterior uplighting, which had become a tripping hazard.
Bishop Bonnar celebrated a Mass for Life on January 14, 2024, at St. Columba Cathedral.

The Diocese of Youngstown celebrates the Ordination to the Priesthood June 17, 2023 from The Cathedral of St. Columba. Most Reverend David J. Bonnar, Bishop of Youngstown ordained three new priests, Rev Robert James England, Rev. John Thomas Rovnak, and Rev Frederick Anthony Schlueter.
