Headshot of Sister Susanne

Sister Susanne Gill, the former Barbara “Bobbie” Gill, entered the Humility of Mary Community in 1949 from St. Paul Parish in North Canton. She attended St. Paul’s Elementary School, North Canton High School (presently Hoover High School), St. John College in Cleveland, for her BSE and Purdue University in Indiana for her MSE. She served in active ministry for 47 years as an elementary school teacher and principal, as a director of religious education and as a pastoral minister.

She currently serves in the Humility of Mary Prayer Ministry and volunteers wherever needed at Villa Maria Community Center. She had the honor of being inducted into North Canton High School’s Hall of Distinction in 2013. Sister Susanne has been blessed in so many ways with the spiritual and loving help of family, friends and all those she has served and who have served her. “Gratitude” is the word that she uses to describe her 75 years, and she thanks God for her vocation as a Sister of the Humility of Mary.
