Sister Zoe Ann Reiter

Sister Zoe Ann Reiter – 65 Years Sister Zoe Ann Reiter (formerly Sister Christopher), a daughter of Isadore (“Johnny”) and Mary Francys (nee Ryan) Reiter Bender, was born and raised in Ashtabula, baptized at St. Joseph (now Our Lady of Peace Parish) and graduated from Saint John High School. She entered the Humility of Mary Community in January 1960 from St. Andrew Bobola Parish in Kingsville. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Education and her Masters in Religious Education from St. John College of Cleveland, she did postgraduate work in theology at Loyola University of New Orleans. Sister Zoe Ann taught elementary school for 16 years, as well as CCD at St. Stephen (now St. Pope John XXIII Parish) in Niles, St. Paul Parish in North Canton, St. Edward (now St. Columba Cathedral Parish) in Youngstown, Mount Pleasant in Cleveland and St. Paul Parish in Salem. She ministered in the Youngstown Diocesan Office in the Department of Religious Education as a catechetical consultant to the parishes for 15 years. She later served as a pastoral minister at St. Michael Parish in Canfield for three years and at St. James Parish in Pulaski, Pennsylvania. In 2019 she retired as director of Adult Faith Formation from St. James Parish after ministering there for 21 years. Sister Zoe Ann now lives in Mineral Ridge, Ohio, and is part of the community at St. Brendan (now St. Mary Magdalene Parish) in Youngstown.
