Eighth-graders in the CCD program at St. Nicholas School in Struthers visited residents of McFarland Manor Retirement House, in preparation for Easter 1989. Even the Easter Bunny is an eighth-grader.  The parish’s director of religious education and catechists structured experiences so that the young people were able to demonstrate their love for God and neighbor by actively participating in a life of Christian charity, looking for and answering the needs of the community. Sixteen students took part in preparing and delivering baskets, learning the value of reaching out to an older generation.

This photo was published in The Catholic Exponent on March 31, 1989. Pictured left to right are: Krista Nardella, Kicki Rubosky, Joe Champion and Karla Nardella in the Easter Bunny costume.
