This month, we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Archangels on September 29, followed shortly thereafter by the Feast of the Guardian Angels on October 2. Learn more about Archangel Michael in The Catholic Echo, and borrow these resources from the Diocese of Youngstown Library to increase your understanding of these messengers of God:
Essential Guide to Angels, by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This book gives an account of how angels are present in the lives of the faithful and how these celestial spirits have been placed at our sides to protect us, instruct us and guide us.
Angels in the Bible, by George Smiga. The Bible is full of passages about angels who are sent to accomplish God’s will. Angels speak for God, direct the course of nations and protect God’s people. They worship God and deliver His judgment.
Angels, Angels, Everywhere, by Tomie DePaola. Did you know there are angels all around? From the Get-Dressed Angel in the morning to the Goodnight Angel at night, Angels, Angels Everywhere is a wonderful celebration of warmth and giving, sure to lend comfort to any reader. After all, everyone can use an angel!
