Father Gregory Fedor was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Youngstown on June 18, 1983. Originally from Conneaut, Ohio, Father Fedor has served for the past 14 years as the pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Austintown, and he also became the pastor at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Austintown in 2021.Â
Father Fedor graduated from St. John High School in Ashtabula in 1975 and went on to Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where he played football as an offensive lineman for four years while earning a bachelor’s degree in economics. His graduate studies were at Mount St. Mary Seminary in Cincinnati and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
Since his ordination in 1983, Father Fedor has served as associate pastor at St. Paul Parish in North Canton, administrator at St. Vincent De Paul (now St. Thomas the Apostle Parish) in Vienna, pastor at St. Mary Parish in Orwell and at Sacred Heart Parish in Rock Creek. He also served in several capacities at Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown—teacher, associate principal, chaplain to the football team and track coach.
His other ministerial duties have included serving on the Presbyteral Council for the Diocese of Youngstown, the Ohio Bishops’ Advisory Council of the Catholic Conference of Ohio, the diocese’s Lay Ministry Formation Program, the North Canton Ministerial Association and Grand Valley Interfaith Service.
In his spare time, he enjoys several athletic pursuits—including golf, swimming and rooting for Cleveland’s professional sports teams—as well as watching action and science fiction movies and reading books on history and Scripture.
