The Diocese of Youngstown and The Catholic Echo received several awards at this year’s Catholic Media Association Awards ceremony, which was held the last day of the association’s conference in Phoenix from June 24 to 27.

Youngstown brought home a total of six awards from the Catholic Media Association conference.

On April 23, the Feast Day of St. George, the patron saint of scouts, at Holy Spirit Parish in Uniontown, the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting (DCCOS) bestowed its annual awards to scouts who completed the requirements for two Catholic Boy Scouts of America (BSA) programs. They also recognized select adults. Â

The Golden Apple Award honors six outstanding teachers and one outstanding principal in the Diocese of Youngstown’s Catholic schools.
