Ursuline Upperclassmen Spend Easter Break on Mission Trip

Over their Easter break this year, a large group of local students who are members of Ursuline High school’s SOS Students of Stewardship club travelled to Puerto Rico, to participate in a mission trip. Ursuline’s SOS club is an extracurricular service organization for students in grades 9 through 12, dedicated to serving various local charities including Dorothy Day and Heart Reach, among others. At the end of each year, upperclassmen club members also participate in a mission trip to an area in need.

Ursuline teacher Aimee Morrison led this year’s mission trip, and Father Brian Smith, diocesan director of Hispanic Ministry, and several chaperones also traveled with them, including Father Kevin Peters, Nicole Uerling, Tom Metzinger and Marcy Sebest. The goal of this Puerto Rican mission trip was for the students to help the locals, in various capacities, to restore parts of the island following several devastating hurricanes.
