Facebook and YouTube are still the most used social media platforms

If you parish/school/Catholic agency is considering getting started with social media, Facebook and YouTube are still your best bets for reaching people.  (And if you are already using social media and keep hearing that Facebook is dying out, be assured that it is still the most used.)

A few interesting statistics:

“As of April 2023, the top most used social media platforms, ranked by global active users, were Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, Instagram, and WeChat…

There are 2.989 billion monthly active Facebook users, representing 57.2% of all internet users…

The median age of Facebook’s advertising audience is 32 years old…

YouTube is used by 95% of teenagers.”

It is still important to talk to members of your community to see what media they use and work to connect with them.  But in general, you will still get the most impact with Facebook and YouTube.

Thanks for all you do to share the Good News of the Gospel on your social media!
