400 Volunteers
Each year, St. Patrick Parish in Hubbard, Trumbull County, expects to sell more than 5,000 stuffed cabbages, 4,000 to 5,000 haluski dinners, 1,000 pounds of French fries and more than 40 kegs of beer at its parish festival. Over 400 volunteers from the parish work the festival, making food, helping with setup and running events.
30,000 Visitors
At the last Ox Roast Fair—the annual parish festival for St. Joseph Parish in Mantua, Portage County—the parish welcomed 30,000 visitors over the course of three days. They cooked 3,500 pounds of beef and held 27 categories of tractor pulls at the event.
4,000 Sausage Sandwiches Sold
Holy Family Parish in Navarre, Stark County, sold more than 4,000 sausage sandwiches—totaling 1,000 pounds of sausage—at its 2022 parish festival. They also sold 650 pounds of chicken wings and 800 pounds of French fries.
$51,000 in Raffle Tickets Sold
In 2022, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Niles, sold $51,000 in raffle tickets and literal tons of homemade food, including 20,000 cheese puffs, 1,500 pounds of cavatelli pasta and 8,000 meatballs.
