SUMMARY:Small Faith Sharing Group Presentation
DESCRIPTION:As we continue in Year Two: The Parish Year of the National Eucharistic Revival, we are inviting all parishes to consider beginning (or in some cases, continuing) with Small Faith Sharing Groups centered on the Eucharist. The initial resource we are inviting parishes to consider is “Becoming Eucharistic People: The Hope and Promise of Parish Life” by Timothy O’Malley. To better assist the Small Faith Sharing Groups, we will be holding a brief information and training session for leaders of this effort in our parishes. The session will present and discuss the material available for this resource, as well as a companion resource.\nWe will also discuss information about the upcoming Eucharistic Revival Congress in July of 2024. Bishop Bonnar has secured 125 tickets to be distributed free of charge to parish reps and individuals desiring to attend.\nIn this five-day event, one hundred and twenty-five parishioners and members of our diocese are invited to travel with us to Indianapolis, Indiana to join eighty-thousand Catholics in the Lucas Oil Stadium. There, we will have daily Mass, we will be hearing speakers (Montse Alvarado, Sister Miriam James Heidland, and Fr. Josh Johnson), meeting other Catholics, and have a city-wide Eucharistic Procession, including breakout sessions and festival programming.\nPlease join us for the Small Faith Sharing Group presentation\nWhere: Saint Michael Parish Hall in Canfield, 300 North Broad Street\nWhen: Monday, August 28th, 6:30 – 8:30 pm\nIn Becoming Eucharistic People, theologian Timothy P. O’Malley, author of Real Presence, outlines four essential dimensions of a Eucharistic culture in a parish—one that fosters reverence and unity among the faithful, includes\nevery dimension of human life in the mystery of Christ’s Body and Blood, and invites people back to parish life or to become Catholic for the first time.\n\n\n
